As a starting point, our design team spent months researching current environmental issues in China. After learning about their causes and ramifications, we classified and ranked them in importance. This research guided us through devising a conference schedule, choosing speakers, the venue, and the topics of discussions. After such immersive research through hundreds of articles, news pieces and scientific journals, the imagery and verbiage for our visual experiments came easy.
