Photo-polymer plate poster with embedded 3D model announcing the release of the 1984 Macintosh 128k.

This intricate project combined storytelling constraints as well as an unpredictable, complex process of photo polymer plate printing. I chose the announcement of the Macintosh 128k as my topic because it combined an old story with futuristic technology, much like the combination of the printing process and the digital designing of the poster.

Assembled 3-D elements of poster

After much research and prototyping, I finished my design, imprinted it on a polymer plate through photo exposure and chemical washes, and ran it through a letterpress printer for multiple editions. Each one was unique, as the polymer plate slightly warped the design, and each print carried the ink differently.

Thank you.
